New Press Adds Increased Capacity and Capability

Well it's been some time since an update, but I assure you it's only because we have been busy getting all of our customers orders out! 2011 has been a good year for Spreading Ink, our move to a larger facility gave us room to expand so we ordered and installed a 16 color Anatol Pegasus hybrid press!

We actually ordered the press in January and it (finally) arrived in late April and since that time we have been putting it to the test.

Randy and Manny from OTS came and performed the installation and did a great job for us. The press took about three days to install for those of you who may be interested you can see a gallery of images here on the actual installation.

What makes the press a hybrid you ask? It was designed from the ground up to be a jumbo print size press (more about this later) and with all over printing capabilities on 7 of the 16 heads. In the all over print mode, the press has dedicated load and off load stations and is designed to produce prints up to 43 inches wide by 40 inches tall. With our previous experience doing all over screen printing we know that will cover up to size 2XL on the majority of shirt brands from sleeve tip to sleeve.

The press's jumbo print capability includes up to 16 colors at 20 x 24 inches tall and an ability to print jumbos in all over mode which allows for up to 7 colors at print sizes of up to 20 x 40 inches tall while over a platen the press adds tons of flexibility to our customers and allows us to offer semi-all over prints to get an full front look without the expense of true all over screen prints.

Since having the press installed our production department has been running all over prints about 16 hours per day on our 8 color Trident, and while the primary purpose of this press was to give us a large color capacity at jumbo print sizes, it's all over print capabilities have only recently been put to test, but it helps us get a rush order of 5000 all over prints done recently and it's nice to have the additional all over capability available when we need it.

Anatol Equipment MFG built the press for us and were really attentive to our needs as customers. Our experiences printing all over prints on the Trident 8 color all over press gave us a lot of insight into the specific features we needed to have and Anatol did a great job of putting together a press that so far, has exceeded our expectations.

We have put the press to task over the past three months and have put over 25,000 imprints on it, and we can tell you it's a great press! We are enjoying all of the capability it's giving us, and our customers are benefiting from the increased production capacity and capabilities the press gives our company.
